How did it start?
Expat Contact started in the United States, but its roots go back to INSEAD, an international business school located near Paris, France. After graduation, groups of us gathered regularly for dinners and just loved feasting on the diversity of cultures, languages and experiences around the table.
We knew there had to be many others like us in town (although not necessarily from our business school or in business for that matter) and often thought of doing something to bring everyone together. After procrastinating for a few years, we finally launched Expat Contact in 2001.
Today, Expat Contact has chapters in Los Angeles, Milan, Paris and Stockholm. INSEAD alumni are present in each chapter but today account for only a small fraction of the members, who come from myriad cultural, educational and professional backgrounds.
